Backup & Recovery Using Oracle 11g RMAN

Course Description:

If you want to learn about RMAN, this is the class to take! In this class the student will learn everything they need to know to put RMAN to work in their database environments. RMAN is a very powerful backup and recovery tool that can seem overwhelming at first glance. Classroom discussion and lab exercises will put the student on track to becoming successful at including RMAN in your overall backup and recovery strategies. The class ends with a lab exercise that will put everything the student has learned to the test, simulating real life database failures that the student will need to solve.

Upon completion of this class of intense instruction, and immersion into the actual use of the product, the student will be prepared to implement RMAN in his/her work environment.

Learning Objectives:

1.           Understand the RMAN architecture.

2.            Configure RMAN for backup and recovery operations

3.            Perform offline and online backups of your database  with RMAN confidently.

4.            Diagnose database errors requiring RMAN recovery.

5.            Restore and recover your database with RMAN.

6.            Perform more complex forms of recovery such as  point in time recovery and 
               online block media  recovery.

7.            Learn how to duplicate a database with RMAN.
